Our Story

Byron & Cheryl Volkman and Mike & Marilyn Shellenberg have worked and raised their families in Sherwood Park for the past 20 years.

Cheryl and Byron's vacations are often spent touring historical buildings, visiting antique and furniture stores, and appreciating the architecture, construction and quality from past craftsmen.

Marilyn and Mike have always appreciated furniture with character. Approximately 15 years ago, they discovered European furniture while visiting Vancouver Island. The couple admired and marveled at the unique character, great workmanship and history of the fine European furniture. Their discovery left a profound impact on them and lingered in their minds over the years.

When an opportunity to purchase an existing antique furniture store in Sherwood Park presented itself, the entrepreneurial couples, who were great friends with a passion for finely crafted furniture, pondered this new venture together. After many coffee meetings, the two couples took on the challenge and as partners opened Berkshire Antique Furniture Co.

Marilyn and Cheryl are committed to offering a fresh new look and feel to the antique furniture shopping experience by providing an astounding collection of imported European antiques and fine furniture. Their dedication drives them to shop across Europe to source that unique, one-of-a-kind antique at their customers' request.
